Zach Edey, Purdue Host Iowa in Big Ten Showdown
Just when we thought the NBA trade deadline couldn’t get any more wild, Kevin Durant got traded to the Suns in one of the biggest blockbusters in league history. That should make for plenty of interesting story lines in the NBA the rest of the way. But tonight we shift our focus to college basketball. The No. 1 men’s team in the country and the prohibitive favorite for National Player of the Year could get tested tonight in what should be a fun watch.
Here’s what I’m watching today.
MUST WATCH:
Men’s CBB: Iowa at No. 1 Purdue
Purdue has asserted itself as college basketball’s best team, holding on to the No. 1 spot in the polls despite a loss over the weekend at Indiana. Big man Zach Edey is having a historic season, averaging more than 22 points and 13 rebounds per game to lead the Boilermakers from unranked in the preseason to one of the favorites to take the national title. They could get tested tonight by an Iowa team that has turned a corner after a slow start to conference play and has a star in forward Kris Murray.
